Keep Your Best Reference Materials Close

I’ve found there’s real value in keeping good reference materials close at hand.

The books and resources I rely on most are not the ones sitting on a shelf looking impressive. They’re the ones that are clearly well used — dog-eared pages, highlighted sections, and Post-it notes marking the parts I go back to again and again.

To me, that’s a sign of value.

When you have trusted reference materials nearby, you save time, avoid unnecessary mistakes, and have something dependable to turn to when you need clarity. Whether it’s for work, writing, problem-solving, or learning, the right resource within reach can make all the difference.

It’s not about collecting more information. It’s about knowing what’s useful and keeping it where you can actually use it.

The best reference materials are rarely the neatest ones.

They’re the ones that show the signs of being opened often.

I sometimes I bookmark websites that I want to reference too. Although I like a good book. I’m old-school that way.

Oh, yeah, I use YouTube too, marking valuable content.

Have you visited my YouTube channel yet?

What do you use for reference material? Books, websites, both?  Let me know in the comments. I look forward to hearing from you.
